other countries like
Kenya and Canada
contribute significantly to
their national economies. The
co-operative sector in
Nigeria too, has the potential
to grow and
deliver a significant contribution to the economy, If
proper policy is made to this regard. For instance; the All Co-operative
Farmers Association, Edo State. Has resolved to:

Be in
the forefront for the promotion of ideas projected to lead all farmers and
small scale entrepreneurs in the state to success.

To
operate in all the Local Government Areas of the State, within the Nigeria
boundary, the Africa continent and the world at large; In order to promote the
state, national, and international Co-operation and understanding, among the
co-operative enthusiasts.

Improve agricultural productivity
through better use
of inputs and
farm management, as it
will make a remarkable
difference to the
lives of farmers
and reduce food
insecurity.
·
To provide
more sources of employment for rural dwellers.
·
Help
various governments to provide job opportunities, as this will reduce poverty
in the country. It will also assist in reducing inflation as the end products
will be dispense out by the farmer when food and other raw materials will be
accessed easily by farmers and other
users.
·
Give its
members the opportunity to be independent.
Through co-operative loans support to its members, in order to revive
dying businesses, as it also
gives members the
opportunity to make purchases of any kind, such as
business equipment or food
items, at a lower
price when resources are pooled together to make bulk
purchases.
